Category: Organic Series
Nature and its processes are at the conceptual foundation of this series, in which abstraction suggests recognizable forms. Fertilizations, germinations, blooms, and undulating growth can be discovered in the network of curves, roundness, and other references to the plants–and even to animal and human forms. The artist’s subjectivity emerges freely in these almost surrealistic images, evocative of Tarsila do Amaral’s dreamlike landscapes, or Georgia O’Keeffe’s intense gaze into the natural environment.
